Prep Board – Solid Rimu
A beautifully made prep board crafted from one solid piece of reclaimed New Zealand native Rimu.
The timber used for these boards was salvaged during the demolition of the former Palmerston North Teachers’ College Library, giving this native timber a new life in the kitchen.
Each board is made from a single clear-grade piece of Rimu — no glue, no lamination, no joins.
The timber has been carefully selected to be free from cracks, nail holes and knots, leaving a clean, uninterrupted surface that showcases the natural grain and colour of the Rimu.
At 30 × 20 × 4 cm, it’s a compact but substantial board, ideal for everyday food preparation, serving, or keeping close at hand on the kitchen bench.
