Ingredients

  • Food-grade mineral oil
  • Locally sourced bees wax

Directions

  • Ensure your cutting board is clean and dry before applying board conditioner.
(This is best to complete in the evening, to allow the wax to absorb overnight.)
  • Using a lint-free cloth, collect a small amount of wax from the tin. Rub cloth in a circular motion if the wax is solid, and will soften.
  • Thinly coat the board conditioner on all sides and edges of your board, (like the way you use boot polish) ensuring a thin, even coating. Your board should look 'greasy', but without clumps of wax visible.
  • Leave upright to sit overnight, or at least 2 hours.
  • Use a dry, lint-free cloth to buff off excess wax

Tip - use wooden spoons to keep board elevated while absorbing. Our board conditioner works great on wooden spoons too!

Care instructions

Cleaning:

  • Do not put your board in the dishwasher, or soak in water for long periods of time.
  • Clean your board with a soft cloth or brush and warm soapy water.
  • Dry thoroughly with a towel.
  • Leave your board standing upright to allow for all-round air drying.

Storage:

  • Store your board upright when possible to prevent warping.
  • Avoid storing your board lying flat, particularly on a wet surface.
  • Avoid leaving the board in direct sunlight

To help remove stains and odours

  • Sprinkle 1 teaspoon of salt and baking soda over the desired area and rub the board using a sliced half of a lemon. Rinse well with hot water.
